Site is live as of today! Still a few things to sort out- few galleries to update- but it's mostly up and running!
I recently returned from one month in Borneo: as a 2 week field course - part of my 3rd year studying Biology at the University of Sheffield - and also 2 weeks holiday. As a student the time at Danum Valley Field Centre was excellent and allowed us to plan and carry out a piece of research at one of the leading tropical rainforest scientific stations in the world. And as a photographer the opportunities were nonpareil, especially for invertebrate macro work. My 100mm f/2.8 macro was working overtime and flash batteries were on constant recharge!

Part of the holiday portion were spent at sipadan-kapalai, where I attempted to get to grips with underwater photography, something which I've always admired when I've seen other peoples work. I now appreciate those beautiful sharp, clear, well-lit underwater shots even more. Though I've only started diving recently, I decided to jump in at the deep end (as it were) and get my own little underwater rig. At first none of my shots were hitting the mark, but after a few dives my photos were getting better, and in the end I've ended up with a few I'm happy with. A lot of improvement will come with more just dive experience - and it's something I certainly plan on carrying on!
Photos from the trip can be viewed at my gallery here.
Hello World. So this (my new site) is just about ready. It's not live yet, but will be in a few days. This site should provide a bit more information about me, give quicker access to some of my photos, and also provide a platform from which I can try and turn what is currently a hobby into, one day I hope, a profession.
